Jake Huneycutt is a graduate of Emory’s Goizueta Business School. He has managed a long / short portfolio (with options) for a high net worth client since late 2009, outperforming the S&P 500 significantly. He is a value investor with a largely contrarian investment style.
Jake has written for Seeking Alpha, the online investment publication, since 2008 and has had several successful thesis, including a bullish call on REITs in early 2009, a bearish copper thesis in 2011, and a aggressive bullish position on housing and homebuilders in 2011.
On top of his activities in investing, Jake has worked as an Accountant for Clifton Gunderson (now CliftonLarsonAllen), a Consultant with CSC, and also taught Managerial Accounting problem sessions at the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.
Jake is originally from Johnson City, TN and currently resides in Atlanta, GA. He has lived in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions of the US his entire life. In addition to his MBA, he also holds a Master of Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and my B.A. in History and Political Science from East Tennessee State University.
Outside interests include mud runs (e.g. Spartan Race), strategy games, and East Coast wines (e.g. New York and Virginia).
